Admissions

Admissions Process

The admissions process for Pittsboro Montessori School begins with you attending one of our Open Houses and/or Parent Q&A Sessions to learn more about our program. Open Houses are designed to acquaint parents of prospective students with the mission of the school, the Montessori philosophy, and its implementation in the classroom.

Parent Q&A Sessions are designed to allow families a chance to ask questions specific to their children and the Montessori method. Children are required to attend. A Parent Q&A Session and a completed admission application are required for a student to be considered for admission.

Applications for the 2012-2013 school year are now being accepted.  Please click here to access the online application.  Applications are due no later than Wednesday February 29th to be considered in the first round of admissions decisions, which will be communicated by Friday March 9th.  Financial Aid applications are also due by February 29th so that we can communicate financial aid awards at the same time as admissions decisions.

If your child is admitted to our program, you must complete an online enrollment process and submit a $350 non-refundable joining fee and $490 security deposit within 14 days (see Tuition and Financial Aid) to secure the offered spot in the class.  If you are offered a spot in our waiting pool, students are admitted from that pool as spots become available to balance our classes by age, gender, and to create a diverse community.

Applicants with special needs or family members of applicants requiring any type of accommodation during the admissions process are encouraged to indicate what type of accommodation is needed.
